SpaceSpotlight: Explore the 3-D Vislab

Join the Learning Spaces Special Interest Group for a sneak preview of the eResearch Centre’s new 3D Vislab.

The Teaching & Learning Academy, Learning Spaces Special Interest Group invites you to our July SpaceSpotlight in the JCU eResearch Centre’s new 3-D Vislab. The aim of the informal session is give staff who are interested in the use of space and technology a chance to experience the new facility in action and to get creative about ways in which they might be able to use the new Townsville facility in their teaching, for other work and for research.

JCU's Vislab will soon provide students, researchers, staff and external organisations the opportunity to interact with 3D content in an immersive environment. The space features professional-grade 3D projection, high-performance computing, surround sound, and adjustable lecture-style seating. If you've ever wanted to view Google Earth in 3D, see JCU’s campus history on the big screen, or see collections of 3D photography, here’s your chance for a sneak preview. The Vislab officially opens in late 2014. Download a flyer.
