eResearch EXPO – ICT Infrastructure and Services for Researchers
Not only has IT become more pervasive in society as a whole but more and more research is conducted using digital tools and methods. While in some ways unnoticed, this represents a big change in research culture and requires new approaches in order to gain the most benefit to your research.
The eResearch Centre supports infrastructure and services that can enhance both research quality and profiles of JCU researchers. These services include:
- data management, exposure and promotion through the Tropical Data Hub,
- high performance computing, virtual machines and mass data storage through partnerships with ITR, QCIF and RDSI,
- collaboration tools through local resources and brokering access to national eResearch services (including mass grouping video conferencing), and
- bespoke software and hardware development and testing (eg, remote sensor networks)
The eResearch Expo will bring together the JCU eResearch Centre, researchers using eResearch methods and organisations providing eResearch services in a series of short presentations, demonstrations and booths.
Visitors should leave with ideas about how eResearch can assist their research.
